About Falls at Green Meadows

Developed by the Friendswood Development Company starting in 2014, the Falls at Green Meadows is a 242-acre master-planned neighborhood in Katy, Texas. The community was built on the former site of the Green Meadows Golf Course, which opened in 1965 as Katy’s first golf course. Founded by local civic leader and former Katy Mayor Ward Stanberry, the family-friendly, 18-hole walking course operated for over forty years until its sale in 2008. Today, the residential neighborhood preserves the site’s natural heritage by integrating many of the golf course’s mature, decades-old trees into its landscape. Situated near Avenue D and Franz Road, the neighborhood features modern homes built by Lennar and Westin Homes, scenic walking trails, and man-made lakes, located directly across from Katy City Park.

The neighborhood offers a serene environment defined by its mature trees and proximity to extensive green space. It is a strictly residential enclave with minimal commercial activity, ensuring a peaceful atmosphere for those who prioritize quiet surroundings. The layout promotes high pedestrian accessibility, making it easy for residents to navigate the local streets and reach nearby recreational areas on foot. According to recent data, the area maintains a distinct lack of noise pollution, contributing to its reputation as a tranquil retreat within the city.

While the area excels in tranquility and educational access through the highly-rated Katy Independent School District, it offers limited immediate access to retail or dining options. The lack of commercial development means residents must travel outside the immediate vicinity for daily errands. This community is best suited for families and individuals who value a quiet, pedestrian-friendly lifestyle and prioritize proximity to public parks over urban convenience.
