About Tejas Trails

Developed as a subdivision in the 1960s, the Tejas Trails neighborhood in Fort Worth, Texas, was originally built on land owned by Verna and Johnnie Stubbs of Stubbs Realty, with later tracts developed by Victor E. Hall. The community established its first property owners association in 1974. The neighborhood’s most prominent historical landmark is the Tannahill Homestead, located at the corner of Silver Creek Road and Verna Trail. Built in 1874 by Robert Tannahill, it is the oldest standing house in the area and features 20-inch-thick walls constructed from hand-cut stone quarried from nearby Live Oak Creek. The homestead also served as the area's first local post office starting in 1878.

This neighborhood functions as a predominantly residential area that emphasizes a rural atmosphere over urban convenience. The layout features scattered housing and expansive green spaces, providing a serene environment that contrasts with the density of the surrounding Fort Worth metroplex. According to iHuus data, the area maintains a high level of health insurance coverage among residents, reflecting a stable and established population base that benefits from a lack of industrial encroachment.

The area is best suited for those who prioritize privacy and quiet over walkability and immediate access to commercial amenities. While the White Settlement Independent School District provides reliable educational services, the scarcity of local services means residents typically travel outside the immediate vicinity for shopping and entertainment. It remains a peaceful retreat for those seeking a slower pace of life with minimal noise pollution from industrial sources.
